Does anyone have the answers?
We have run 2 WebBall Hitting Challenges. And we intend to do more. Plus, between challenges - and prior - we have received any number of articles on teaching methods for hitting. We will continue to accept more.

Over the years we have been criticized for this. Why can't we decide on one teaching method and only recommend that. Maybe in time we will. (Look for a major upgrade in teaching during 2007.)

For now, though, we want to showcase the ideas and approaches that are out there that work for some hitters. And while we suspect there is some common ground - usually at the point between the hands moving forward and the barrel hitting the ball -  in truth there are many ways to describe in detail what happens before, after and during the event that we all would call  "a good swing".

But the greater truth is that all kinds of non-textbook swings can produce good hits. You see it all the time. so either those swings were wrong or the search for the perfect swing will not make you a perfect hitter.

What matters more? The good swing? Or the good hit?

We'll let you decide. Just as we'll let you decide which instructors you agree with in our challenges, and which swing techniques you prefer to teach. While we provide opportunities for "formal" debate during the Challenges, we invite your comments any time. Meantime, enjoy the discussions.
